US Census Takers Needed

Are you looking for ways to help your community? The U.S. Census Bureau is currently hiring census takers for the 2020 Census in our area. These jobs are temporary (March-July, 2020). The pay rate is $20.50 per hour.

By working for the Census Bureau, you can help them reach their goal for the 2020 Census to ensure everyone is counted. Census counts have a huge impact on our community. The 2020 Census data will be used to determine how more than $675 billion from more than 100 government programs are distributed to states and localities, including communities like ours. The data influence choices made about which roads are fixed, where schools are built and businesses opened, what medical services are offered, and more.

If you’re interested, please visit the Census Bureau job site to apply. You’ll also be able to see descriptions and frequently asked questions at 2020census.gov/jobs.

Coins for A'sCoins for A’s is a program in which the American Numismatic Association awards coins to students who have earned three or more A’s during the latest school marking period. Students simply send a copy of their report card to the ANA headquarters, and they in turn send the student a world coin along with a congratulatory letter asking them to learn as much about the country the coin came from. Every time that a student is eligible, they may repeat the process, and the ANA will send a different world coin. There is never a cost involved, and when a student earns their first coin, we will even send to the youngster an application for a free initial 1 year membership to the ANA.

If your organization would like to share information with the Comstock Public Schools community, please forward an electronic version of your flier to the office of the superintendent. Please allow ample time for your document to be reviewed prior to being digitally shared with the CPS community. (PDF format preferred)

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

Effective July 1, 2016, information which organizations wish to share with the students and families of the Comstock Public Schools will be shared only electronically. In an effort to spare our teachers and staff the added work of distributing fliers and forms to students, and in an effort to reduce the amount of paper sent home to families, we are making the switch to electronic distribution of these notices.
